Bogarosa, Bodakdev, Ahmedabad: DECOR

This restaurant stands in an individual building a little away from the crowds yet close to clubs and residential societies. Galleries lined with potted plants lead to the dining area. The interiors take inspiration from Mumbai’s Irani cafes, with floral motifs, white edged black tiled floors and colourful table tops. There are stools along a bar. The look is quirky and casual.

Bogarosa, Bodakdev, Ahmedabad: FOOD

This café-style restaurant is largely about reinventing popular dishes, including Mumbai Irani classics and street food, club food, and Indian and international dishes. The Chana Dal Matka Salad is an example of interesting presented Indian dishes. Similarly, you could have Molecular Puchkas, Masala Khakra Nachos, or the Deconstructed Chaat Trolley that comes with khaman dhokla, sev and chutneys.

The egg dishes are takes on popular inventions of the clubs. Mr Kejriwal is a version of the Eggs Kejriwal, a dish made for a member of Willingdon Sports Club who liked his eggs with chillies and cheese. This dish has a fried egg, chillies, cheese, herbs and spices on bread, with a twist: the green chutney is loaded in a syringe plunged into the mixture, and has to be squeezed to season the egg. Masala Akuri is scrambled eggs in the style of the Mumbai Iranis, served on pao. Mumbaiya Street Vada Pao and Mirchi Bhaji is also recommended.

Indian Journey is a section of the menu dedicated to combo meals. One of the house specials is the Thai Curry served with banana leaf wrapped jasmine rice.

Bogarosa, Bodakdev, Ahmedabad:  PLUS AND MINUS

This is a good restaurants for those who like eggs. There is also an excellent range of street foods from different cities, made, served or plated with a twist. The mains are about average though.
