Ottimo, Madhapur, Hyderabad Restaurant: Decor
Situated on the 14th floor with a spectacular view overlooking the picturesque Durgam Cheruvu, Ottimo’s ambience is splendid to say the least. The sober colors, comfy seating, bare brick walls, pendant lighting, and symmetrical ceiling give the eatery a contemporary look and feel. The visually stunning travertine Rosso flooring too adds zing to the warm interiors. Most of the food is dished out from the show kitchen that rests in the center of the restaurant, giving the guests a first and view of the chefs’ culinary skills.
Ottimo, Madhapur, Hyderabad Restaurant: Food
Chef Vittorio Greco puts his own spin to traditional dishes. For instance, the Burrata Pomodori Biologici e Pesto, a fresh burrata served with sundried tomatoes and basil pesto, was delectable. However, don’t go overboard with the antipasti board and save some room for more to come.
Ravioli Di Coniglio Con La Sua Salsa E Riduzione Al Balsamico is a traditional homemade rabbit ravioli served with a splash of balsamic vinegar and an aromatic wild thyme. Chef Greco will treat you to seafood based dishes with interesting flavor combinations such as the Risotto Ai Fruti Di Mare — a risotto with chef’s selection of seafood — was worth every rupee.
There plating on great-looking cutlery too deserves a special mention and you might feel the urge to not disturb the art.
As with every Italian eatery, their pizzeria section too is grand. For instance, the crispy crust Pizza Al Contadina, with elegant and demure toppings, has herbs marinated chicken along with tomato, loads of Mozzarella, onion and smoked Scamorza and was spot on. The dessert section too is equally creative with Tiramisu and Pannacotta Ai Frutti Di Bosco as the must-tries.
In retrospect, it was a meal to remember but the chef’s fixation on quality ingredients comes with a cost. Bon Appetite!
