If social media is your life and gin and tonic is the choice of drink, then setting has to be The Hub. The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has transformed The Connaught into a chic city destination. It is one of the best designed spaces to open in an utterly forgettable last year. And the fun here goes beyond the props as it also boasts of a very good beverage menu, lots of cocktails, an elaborate food section and warm service.

The Hub, Connaught Place, New Delhi: Decor

The new Connaught looks nothing like the original. The design team has transformed a dilapidated structure into a desirable address. This is also unlike any other Taj property in the city. It MS a very millennial or a contemporary luxe look and boasts of bright interiors, colorful furniture and an open bar in the lobby. Despite use of colors and art deco designs, the al fresco area, restaurant adjoining the bar and seating space look eclectic and tasteful.

The Hub, Connaught Place, New Delhi: Food:

The unique design will immediately charm you and you would end up clicking multiple images before getting yourself seated. And that’s where The Hub really charms us. The menu is as enticing as the design. Officer’s breakfast — gin, marmalade, tea and lemon concoction or gin, mango chutney, jaggery syrup, ginger and peach mix named Ethical Indian hero (Rs. 575 each) are drinks any bar would be proud to call their signatures. The originals and classics section of the menu also boast of good gin, tequila, rum and vodka cocktails (Rs. 575 each). Along with an elaborate straight drinks and wine list, quirky mocktails (Rs. 275 onwards) made with fresh juices and ingredients are also a must try. Whenever international tourist arrivals restart, The Hub will be one of the picks for most. It is eventually this bar that will make this ho-tel thrive and one hopes IHCL deputes their best mixologists here. What gives The Hub an edge over many adjoining bars is chef Pranshu Kanwars restaurant menu. Apart from tasty veg and non veg staples, bar bites Cheela Burritos (Rs. 455), Soya Cigars (Rs. 455) Purani Dilli Chicken Tikka (Rs. 450) and Seekh Kebab (Rs. 650) are great bar snacks to pair with your drinks.

Plus & Minus:

Enter the hotel, turn left and order a drink, that’s how convenient it is. The al fresco area stops service at 9 pm as of now. One hopes it extends service hours to make it one of the best open spots serving drinks till late in the heart of the city.
