Yi Jing is a modern Chinese restaurant that offers a great selection of dishes that gives your taste buds something adventurous to try. Located in the heart of bustling Hitech City, this restaurant has been the local’s favourite for its exceptional technique of plating and bringing in immense flavours, and giving an outstanding experience.

Yi Jing: ITC Kohenur, Hitech City, Hyderabad – Decor

The ambience is exciting with a splash of magnificent colors exuding an oriental charm. The mesmerizing chequered tiling, steam punk cogs on the wooden wall, huge drapers with red crystal chandeliers… they all amp up the grandeur. Seating is quite reassuring and the environment lively yet relaxing. The icing on the cake is the view of picturesque Durgam Chervu from the gigantic windows that let plenty of light seep in.

Yi Jing: ITC Kohenur, Hitech City, Hyderabad – Food

The menu is very elaborate with great value and tasty food for eating in or taking away — the food is made to order. I began with golden chicken – a deep-fried diced chicken combined with crispy brown garlic and scallions… simple ingredients for a clean and delicate starter. One can also try some stimulating soups like vegetable dumpling hot and sour or a healthy quinoa soup with tofu. For the meat lovers, crab meat with egg white and minced chicken with mushrooms in Sichuan style are highly recommended.

Next to come is my favorite prawn crystal hargao, ‘har gow’ means shrimp dumpling in Chinese. The dumpling was perfectly fluffy, chunky, and tasty. Not-to-be missed are deep-fried water chestnut, vegetable crystal dumpling, chicken charsui dumpling and pan-fried lamb dumpling.

From the mains had the house specialty handmade noodles in Chongqing style with minced chicken, a well-made noodle combined with stir-fried veggies and the minced chicken was delectable. Finally, the delicious jasmine tea tart arrived at the table and it is a rich and dense dessert with intense flavours.

Overall the entire dining experience was as usual very nice indeed, but my only concern is the huge portion sizes. Maybe if they can reduce the portion and accordingly the pricing, it might allow many more customers to explore their restaurant.
