If an urban pan-Asian menu is what your taste buds are craving for, look no further than Zega. Stationed at the heart of the city, this restaurant is your one-stop-shop for lip-smacking Asian cuisines.

Initially, we were a little apprehensive when the proprietors changed the name of the restaurant from Inazia to Zega. But all of it were put to rest once we got to know about the improvisations chef Amit Dash and Ho Chi Ming brought to the menu along with the new name. In short, it is simple, affordable and tasty.

Zega, Gachibowli, Hyderabad Asian Restaurant: FOOD

The menu is well crafted with some exotic dishes apart from the regulars. Unlike most places, Zega doesn’t offer prawn crackers, instead it will surprise you with red-pumpkin chips with dips, which are a delight to munch on be Chicken fore your order arrives.

To start off the proceedings, the chef recommended Pan Fried Chicken Dim sum. The assorted dim sums were not too crunchy; with just the right amount of firmness they were accompanied by short plates such as the Lab Kai, water chestnuts with asparagus in honey sauce.

Next came Wok Tossed Tofu; Chef Ming’s specialty.Though we are not big Tofu fans, the dish was an exception. The silky soft tofu with the fiery bird eye chilli, cooked in Chinese herbs and garnished with nutty flavor, was a gourmet’s delight.

Then came the Nasi Goreng; our favorite bowl of rice accompanied by chicken satay and a sunnyside-up egg with strong flavors. Even the Clay pot Rice Tofu had a great depth of flavors, thanks to an aromatic killer sauce which was fresh and light.

The new addition to the menu is the Indian Chinese fare. For instance, the Tangri Chilli Chicken with Spring onion and Capsicum was a delicious surprise.

The sizzling chilli chicken cooked in dark soya sauce was perfect with the jasmine rice. For those with a sweet tooth, we recommend the classic Thai dessert Tub Tim Krob ma de of cubes of water chestnuts in red syrup.
