At the side of its entrance, Vivaha Bhojanambu has a shining metal Ganesha idol, flowers and the traditional coconut. Inside, the restaurant is resplendent with traditional paintings, designer wallpapers and comfortable blue-and-beige seating.

Bhimavaram Kodi Vepudu has chicken chunks on the bone. Dark with the roasted masala, the deep-fried pieces were tossed in; the green chilli on top is just in case you would like a few bites of spice and fresh chilli taste. Korameenu Tandoori Chepa arrives on a banana leaf-lined platter, nicely sliced in manageable pieces. Slightly smoky from the tandoor, and despite its characteristic tiny bones, it is moist and the skin is nicely crispened. Deep fried, the Mokkajjona Wada is made using baby corn. Each day, a different chutney is served. The day I went, it was cabbage chutney. A first, it was different from the usual. A large, grey ball arrived in the thali. It is the Ragi Sangathi and is full of nutrients. You can add any of the accompaniments. The best was the Guthi Venkaya Curry made using baby brinjals and is somewhat like our Ennai Kathirikka. Another favourite turned out to be the Pappu Charanam. Although it is dal and rice mixed together, it has a slurpy consistency. Jamun Delight is a moist combination of many ingredients, including cream, musk melon, guava paste, bread… and, all of it is sugar-free.

Pluses and minuses:

Food is served in original bronze and pottery. They don’t use any food colours, MSG or dalda.
