Yazu: Pan Asian Supper Club – About

Surprises ahead! I write from Singapore where we are nibbling our way through varied cuisines of the world and plenty of Pan-Asian dishes, too. It’s a happy coincidence that I am about to review Mumbai’s very own PanAsian place, Yazu. I’d braved the traffic-choked drive to Andheri. Much as I love the energy and bustle of the suburbs, the drive can be daunting. Was my trip to Yazu worth it? Read on to find out. . .

Decor – Yazu: Pan Asian Supper Club

Love the colourful vibrant vibe here. Starting with the abstract fish shaped paper lamps. Asia’s colour and designs infuse the large indoor-outdoor space. A marble and wood bar serves both spaces conveniently. Asian-inspired motifs in rich burgundy, an abstract mural wall behind a long sofa, backlit metal flat screen buzz with energy.

Food – Yazu: Pan Asian Supper Club

Vegetarian Pan-Asian food buffs, you’re in the right place! Plump, flavour-packed Miso-Thai Aubergine sets the tone. Dumplings for vegetarians and Jains, too. Take your pick. Truffle Mushroom, Mushroom Poached Dumpling come up tops. Mexican Roll Black Rice, plump with avocado and cream cheese, topped with musky truffle guacamole isyet another must-try. The tasty textural triumph, crispy Prawn Cheung Fun is a must-try.
Dumpling fans, Yazu is foryou. You’re a purist and want the classic dimsum? Want creative innovative combinations? You’re vegetarian? Jain? You got it all. Many a unique creation by Chef Vadim Shin like Spicy Prawns rolled in fresh spinach leaves, topped with black pepper sauce. Innovative, Yazu Crispy Cottage Cheese, sparkled with curry leaves and fresh bird’s eye chilli. Velvet-ty, aromatic Thai Green Curry with Jasmine rice.
End with their creamy dreamy tiramisu cheesecake!

My Point:

It’s wonderful to watch the restaurant scape expanding, growing and moving northwards into the suburbs. It’s not just quantity, but also quality. Kudos to Chef Vadim Shin, Ranbir Nagpal and Bunty Arora for serving delicious PanAsia food! Yahoo for Yazu!
